Getting Excited about Installations With Kramer Products!

For civic, local government, federal and private - every business/group needs a place to meet! Conference rooms are becoming more and more demanding. Everyone wants to be wireless, but wireless just hasn't really caught up.

... that is until the Kramer VIA came along!

Firstly, we LOVE Kramer products and feature them on a number of our installations for board-room, hotels and conference spaces. The simplicity of a standalone total Audio/Visual solution is exactly the void Kramer Products fit... and provides for great integration/upgrade down the road.

Obviously, the promo video by Kramer makes a great point (see video below) but what we really like is the Kramer VIA Connect Pro.

Right out of the box, the VIA has options for any installation... VGA/HDMI and USB/Thunderbolt connectivity... along with expansion for local storage.

From what we can tell (don't freak out) - the Kremer VIA run's off of a stripped down version of Windows 10 Embedded and really runs solid for day-to-day tasks.

• The ability to change the static background screen (for corporate branding and such) is such a nice feature.
• Remote management is a big plus and easy to use. 
• Digital Signage Mode is super cool for installations needing seasonal, weekly, or scheduled changes.
  
• VIA PAD's totally rock and have the ability to run a complete log-in script bypassing the need to release secure credentials to the network. This automation of the connection allows laptops/devices of any stride to connect to the room without 'retaining log-in credentials'.
  
• Mounting Hardware included making the vertical mounting of the Via (behind TV's, or in Server Racks) and complete snap!

THE ONLY CON (Negative) is the Kramer VIA Pocket (Via Pad Holder) which for one client we've installed - has failed to keep up with the temperature threshold of their conference room. (The client is in a higher elevation without automated HVAC. Room temps ranging from 50-90 degrees.)

The adhesive which bonds the rubber "Pocket" of the VIA Pad Holder - fails to maintain its hold to the metal of the cradle... thus falling to the bottom of the cradle, potentially damaging the VIA Pad's it holds.

THE SOLUTION: After this failure, applying a resin based epoxy back to the metal/rubber has seemed to correct the issue without any disintegration. It's a win!
